SCENE HEADING: MEETING ASHANTI
Action lines: SCENE 1. INT. BEDROOM. MORNING.
The camera pans around the room to show that the room is decorated from wall to wall with everything that Ashanti likes i.e., music artists, bands, her photography, her idol, friends. And then we get to see Ashanti getting ready for the school day (doing her hair).
JEREMIAH
Morning ash.
He was let in by Ashantis’s mother as they are childhood friends and decided to sneak up on her.
ASHANTI
OH MY GOD! You scared the hell out of me. Who let you in.
Action lines: Ashanti finishes getting ready whilst talking to Jeremiah and they both go downstairs and are then stopped by Ashantis’s mother before they could leave.
MIYAH (ASHANTIS’S MOTHER)
Hey! Hey! Where do you guys think you're going without telling me bye.
ASHANTI AND JEREMIAH
Both slowly turn around and act in a sarcastic manner.
We would never do that.
Action: turning around slowly to be met with Ashantis’s mother doing a “sure you were” facial expression
TRANSITION: CUT AND FOCUS PULL
ACTION LINE: SCENE 2. WALKING TO SCHOOL. EXT. MORNING.
ASHANTI
Ughh... I don’t want to go to school, people are just going to act like I don’t exist and ignore me.
JEREMIAH
Oh come on not everyone ignores you and if you just showed them what you can do then they would actually know you and approach you.
ASHANTI
Yeah, but I don’t want them to know what I like to do it’s embarrassing, and they would all make fun of me instead of just ignoring me.
JEREMIAH
Ash no one is going to make fun of you because you like to do Photography... You could actually make money doing that You know the amount of people who would love having their pictures taken.
ASHANTI
I don’t know, maybe you’re right... But you could also be wrong, and it could ruin the rest of my school life.
JEREMIAH
Okay now you’re dragging it how is photography going to ruin your life. Do you even listen to yourself.
ASHANTI
Okay now just shut up this is stressing me out.
Both Ashanti and Jeremiah walked into the school and said their goodbyes and went their separate ways as they didn’t have the first couple of periods together. Ashanti then found her friend Aaliyah in the corridor.
ACTION LINE: SCENE 3. INT. SCHOOL CORRIDORS. ARTIFICIAL LIGHTING. MORNING.
AALIYAH
Hey ash... What’s wrong you look a little bit irritated
ASHANTI
Hey Aaliyah, yea I just don’t want to be in school and Jeremiah was stressing me out again about my photography.
AALIYAH
Well... He might be right Ash, you could do so much with your photography you could become a professional and get a scholarship for it as well as make some money
ASHANTI
Not you too... he said almost the exact same thing I’m not going to have this conversation again
AALIYAH
Sureeeee, but we need to be getting on our way to class not trying to get an ear full from Miss Danielles you know how she gets.
ASHANTI
Yeah, she be doing too much like she does not get payed that much to be caring that much and she old stressing herself out and for what.
They walk off laughing and chatting and enter Miss Danielles room for their lesson.
Blurring out and zooming into light
SCENE HEADING: SCHOOL
ACTION LINE: SCENE 4. INT. CLASSROOM. ARTIFICIAL LIGHTING. MORNING.
Nova sat at her desk surrounded by her friends.
Nova
(Talking to her friend’s) Look at who just walked in the class bro she’s so weird I don’t even know why she bothers coming in no more not like anyone cares.
Aaliyah
(Slightly raised voice) Nobody asked you for your input Nova. AND how are you saying nobody cares about her, but nobody cares about you. Sounds like you’re projecting.
Nova
How about you mind your business cause nobody asked you for your input, just focus on your volleyball and stop worrying about others.
Aaliyah
Just shut up Nova and focus on whatever you got going on which ain’t nothing.
Aaliyah sat down at her desk next to Ashanti and looked at her with pleading eyes.
ASHANTI
You know what Aaliyah, I’m just going to do it I don’t care anymore
AALIYAH
FINALLY, God has answered my prayers thank you thank you.
ASHANTI
Okay not too much now (giggling)
Losing focus and cutting the scene
Montage of Ashanti bring her portfolio of her photography setting up an Instagram page for her photography people coming yp to her asking her to take pictures for events. Her at the events taking pictures. Her getting recognized for her photography and getting a scholarship as well as her friends (they all end up going to the same school) and meeting new people and making more friends.
